And I am running for the U.S. Congress – in the Illinois 17th District as a
Green Party Candidate.
I want to put common sense back into our government. To have our government again become a government “of the people, by the people, for the people”, instead of a government the Pacts, by the Lobbyist and for the special interest groups.
Our professional politicians have brought our government to the verge of bankruptcy,
They have told the American voters who elected them that they will do our thinking for us, as if we are incapable of thinking for ourselves,
That party patrician politics is what we need and that one party is better than the other.
Our elected officials have done nothing for us but sell us out to Pacts and Special Interest Groups, and Corporate America and to their Party. They have put a for sale sign on their office door.
I say it is time to elect a person who will take the for sale sign off the office door and will tell the Pacts, Special Interest Groups, and Corporate America or the party that they are here to represent the people not them.
A person, who when asked what is wrong with this country doesn't start by bringing up religion or morals or patriotism or party politics but will actually say what he believes is wrong and how to fix it.
A person who has hopes and dreams for the future of this nation and its people. A person that cares just as much for the rural areas as well as the larger cities and agricultural areas as well as industrial areas.
In my opinion, the five major issues that our country is facing at this time are as follows:
1. Economy: Create Jobs and bring Jobs back to America.
2. Health Care: We need a National Health Insurance program.
3. Social Security: We need a National Retirement Program, so everyone can retire at a reasonable age and live above the poverty level
.4. Environmental: We need to stop the pollution of our air, water and soil. We need to look at cleaner, cost effective, renewable energy sources.
5. Political and Judicial Reform.
President Grover Cleveland said
"Officeholders are the agents of the people, not their masters."
And I want to be your agent not your master

If you want a government of the People, for the People and by the People again...
If you want an elected Representative that you can Trust...
If you want a Representative that will work for and represent YOU...
